The most beautiful gowns imaginable were on show at the Alex Perry MasterCard Charity Show in Sydney, Australia recently. Alex Perry’s designs have a soft allure and allow a women’s feminine glow to be beautifully present. I love his designs!

Alex Perry’s Safari Princess Spring/Summer collection as well as his ready to wear Bridal Collection showed in support of the McGrath foundation, a charity organization which helps women to become breast aware and informed about breast cancer. Jane McGrath, the founder of the organization sadly passed away on June 22nd but did not leave before making a difference. Click here to visit the McGrath Foundation where you can read about the work of this awesome charity and download a free guide on breast awareness, their gift to all women.

Meat - good or bad?

July 3rd, 2008

I am not a fan of eating meat anymore. I still eat meat but much less of it, there are so many other yummy things that can be eaten and when you start looking into the benefits of not eating meat, you start to get the message that it might not be that good for you. This video explains it well and then be sure to check out Jill’s site for her shared secret on health and weight loss. So interesting!

An apple a day - why not?

April 24th, 2008

apple.jpgApples are so good for you and as long as you can remember you’ve known that saying  “An apple a day keeps the doctor away…”
So why not just include it in your daily diet? Something so simple and beneficial to you just cannot be met with excuses. Just do it! Get a bag of apples each week and enjoy them!
Health benefits of apples are:
- Quercetin - an antioxidant that prevents cancer
- good for your teeth
- fat burning food
- contains fibre
- tastes good
- helpful with asthma
- good for your skin
- contains vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, folate and much more. For the full list of nutritional information on apples click here.

Have an apple a day. I highly recommend it.
Enjoy!

Modern living has it’s downside. You rush about, get stuck in traffic, have deadlines to meet and every now and then you might have to burn the midnight oil to get that pressing project complete. Even our comforts take their toll on us, electric light is not as good for us as we might think. At night when darkness descends our bodies want to wind down and rest but we push those limits with electric light. Every now and then you need to take a break from it all and best thing that anyone can do to de-stress in my opinion is to go to the beach. If you don’t live close to one, make that your next holiday destination. A week or two at a villa on the beach is even better than a visit for an hour or two. Once you are at your beach of choice, feel the tension just slip away as you step onto the sand. The waves have a calming effect, the sun is relaxing, a swim is refreshing, the advantages of how good it makes you feel are endless. Ever notice how when you are sitting on the beach how your eyes just find their way to the horizon of the ocean? That’s your body just taking it all in and appreciating it. Go as a family and you will feel an overall boost for everyone, you will all return home or to your holiday pad refreshed, content and stress free. Just make sure not to get sunburned or you will end up doing harm instead of good.

Would you believe me if I told you that a lemon has the power to make you beautiful? Give me a few moments as I explain and I guarantee you will be off to the market for a bag of lemons. You see, lemons when eaten whole or squeezed into a glass of water, aid in detoxifying the body of impurities and the first place that is going to show is on your skin. Immediately you will look healthier and younger. Healthier from the internal cleansing and younger because lemon juice helps to rid the body of excess water giving you an instantly more youthful look around the eyes. Facial puffiness can be given the boot for good and as long as you are drinking lemon water you will always look fresher than your age. Of course we all have to age but to do so gracefully is the wish of every woman and man for that matter.
